It’s not much longer now until we get our first film in James Gunn’s new DC Universe. Superman, starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, will be the first in a line of new DC films set in a newly rebooted universe.
Whilst the new Superman film releases later this year on July 11, DC gave us our first sneak peek at the film this morning when they released the first clip.

It’s got that James Gunn feel about it, the colour pop, the physical comedy and quippy humour. But above all else, holy smokes I want a Krypto. He’s the best boy.
This new Superman film though, much like the character, has a lot riding on its shoulders. This films success will serve for many as an indicator on what the future holds for this new DC universe, with some choosing to already write it off in loyalty to the previous films.
If this new cinematic universe wants to fly up, up, and away it’s going to likely going to need to hit the ground running and be both a commercial and critical success.
