Bundaberg born and bred, Matt Gees has been working in the media for the past 20 years. His love and passion for radio were ignited during work experience in 4BU’s newsroom when he was still in high school.

Matt began his career in community radio before hosting weekend radio for ABC Wide Bay. He and his young family spent eight years in Brisbane, where he worked in various on-air and behind-the-scenes roles with a national narrowcast radio station. Upon returning to Bundaberg in 2016, Matt worked in Disaster Relief and Community Engagement before returning to the ABC in 2022 to host Saturday Breakfast.

Outside of work, you might run into Matt at the local theatre, at activities or sporting events his children are involved in, or at one of the many church, charity, or community events he supports.
