Seasonal worker dies in Windermere crash

Authorities in Vanuatu have been contacted following the death of a 25-year-old man.

It’s understood he was a passenger of a van that rolled after it collided with a ute at the intersection of Hummock Road and Elliott Heads Road around 7:30 Saturday night.

Nine other people, including two children, were taken to Bundaberg Hospital with minor injuries.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and is due in court Monday, November 25.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and asking for any witnesses to reach out.

It’s been a terrible weekend on our roads.

Around 1:30pm Sunday two women were injured when their car hit a cane train at the corner of Burnett Heads Road and Port Road at Qunaba.

They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A couple of hours later, five people were then injured in a third crash at Bundaberg West.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Adams Street and George Street around 4:30pm.
