A man has been arrested following a house fire in Walkervale.
The blaze broke out in a two-storey home on Walker Street around 6pm on Wednesday.
Emergency crews arrived to find the house well alight.
Detectives declared a crime-scene and began looking for the occupant, who they say had been seen leaving the address on foot, shortly before the fire began.
A 42-year-old man was later found at a Kepnock address, and was taken into custody.
He’s since been charged with arson and attempted arson and is due to face the Bundaberg Magistrates Court this morning.
The house remains a crime-scene as investigations continue.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the Walkervale address prior to the fire, or who may have CCTV, to contact them.
